About Vexa

Tested in the Trenches. Built to perfection

All products are tested at our Haunted House, DARK PRISON in Carson City, NV

Based out of Reno, Nevada, VEXA is a prop fabrication studio born from over 15 years of boots-on-the-ground experience in the haunt industry. We don’t just build props, we build nightmares that survive the season.

Our work is forged at Dark Prison Haunted House at the historic Nevada State Prison. Every piece in our catalog has been “Haunt-Tested,” ensuring that when it hits your show floor, it’s built to withstand the environment with a stunning paint and fabrication job to highlight scenes.

Tiara Quintana

Tiara Quintana

Production Assistant

Tiara Quintana is an entertainment professional and creative force within the haunt industry. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she relocated to Reno, Nevada in April 2023 after spending several years as a Production Assistant at Universal Studios Hollywood, where she helped bring large-scale entertainment experiences to life. Her favorite event to work within the company was the legendary Halloween Horror Nights, where she assisted in managing haunted mazes, scare zones, and her absolute favorite stilt performers… fueling her lifelong passion for horror, immersive storytelling, and high-energy productions. Tiara continues to channel her experiences and knowledge into her work as Talent Director for Dark Prison Haunt in Carson City and as a professional “just a horror girl” eyeball curator for Vexa Fx Props, where her creativity and attention to detail help elevate the artistry in the industry. Since joining Dark Corner Creative in October 2024, she has found a home and community that deeply inspires her work, and ability to fulfill a dream she once thought she lost when leaving Los Angeles behind. She is grateful for the trust, and carries so much love for her team. Without Dark Corner, she would not have found Vexa FX, and without Vexa FX, she would not be able to fulfill the happiness she holds. A full-time student at Truckee Meadows Community College and on track to graduate late 2026, Tiara is known for her passion, kindness, relentless work ethic, and ability to juggle multiple creative roles. A self-proclaimed horror baddie with a love for Halloween, classic slashers, alternative rock, and pop punk, she brings heart, dedication, and unmistakable energy to every project she touches.

Castle

Castle

Production Assistant

Started in Bay Area home haunts in high school, then spent his college years working mazes and street zones at California's Great America. Studied Entertainment Design at University of Silicon Valley, picked up ZBrush and sculpting chasing a career in games — that didn't pan out, but horror did. A Halloween Horror Nights alum who's spent years deep in horror film, TV, and industry BTS content. Landed in Reno in 2021, slid into Dark Corner's DMs while the team was at Monsterpalooza 2022, and hasn't left since. Picked up improv to become a better actor and a better teacher of actors. Now a core part of the VEXA art team, putting in the work both on the shop floor and on his own time.

Our Process

Raw & Refined

At VEXA, “In-House” means everything. We often life-cast our own friends only to dement their forms into the creatures you see before you. From sculpting from scratch to welding our own steel armatures and casting our signature hyper-realistic eyeballs, every detail is handled by our core team.

Our Team is nothing without the help of many members of our haunt family: Zack Clark, Henry, Ryan and Laura Lotchester, Guin Clark, Rachael, Jim Strange, Ethan Harper, Vera Alexander, and our supportive parents Gayle Anderson, Jim and Sandy Spahr.

Our Roots

The VEXA story began five years ago when Holly and Dustin combined their love for fabrication and haunting into a singular dream. What started as building custom pieces for their own haunted house production under the brand “Dark Corner Creative” evolved into a professional product line when Matthew Hawkins joined the team, bringing the focus and artistic vision required to compete at the highest level of the industry.
